Vicky Wang

Cellist Vicky Wang is Artistic Director and co-founder of C’est Bon Chamber Music Academy, where she shares her love of chamber music with young musicians. Through C’est Bon, she also leads cultural exchange initiatives such as the Beyond Borders program with El Salvador, reflecting her belief in music’s power to connect people across cultures. She is on the faculty of the San Francisco Conservatory of Music and was formerly Assistant Professor of Cello at the University of the Pacific.

Vicky also performs as the cellist of Trio 180, an ensemble known for its dynamic performances and commitment to new music. The trio marked its 20th anniversary in 2022 with five commissioned works.

Her musical journey has taken her across North America, Europe, Central America, and Asia, where she has performed, taught, adjudicated, and presented workshops and masterclasses at venues such as the Chamber Music America Conference, Pacific Music Institute in Hawaii, and Shkolnikova Academy in France. She has participated in international festivals including Verbier, Spoleto, and the Pacific Music Festival in Japan.

A graduate of The Juilliard School (BM, MM) and the City University of New York (DMA), her teaching philosophy has been shaped by Eleonore Schoenfeld, Zara Nelsova, Darrett Adkins, Joel Krosnick, Alan Stepansky, and Marcy Rosen. She is continually inspired by the countless students she has worked with, whose curiosity and artistry inform her work as both a performer and educator.
